This machine is something of a mystery. The physical construction is almost identical to the old style Baby and the instructions are a Danish translation of the Baby instructions. The color scheme and the plastic flip case easily put this machines time frame into the 60’s. However, the Calculator Machine Co. stopped making this model of Baby in the late 40’s. Also, although the dimensions and design are pure Baby, there are some physical differences:

1.) the central reset handle is wider than in the Baby 2.) the weight is less – indicating lighter gauge steel, 3.) there are additional crimping dimples on the sides in this “Lomme- Regnemaskinen” than in the Baby.

So, 1.) Who made this machine? 2.) What is the country of origin? Denmark? Sweden? USA? 3.) If made in Europe, how did the design get there? 4.) Why use this old design in the first place?
