Diskussion:Rolex Hisabker

This appears to be a copy of an Addimult. The reset handle is a hexogonal bar characteristic of an Addimult, not a metal cap like a Addiator. I've not seen the surface design used in any Addimult or Addiator.

John, I have posted my Addimult Summator Rupee and it exactly ist the base for Rolex Hisabker, but with other design. Interesting is, that it is marked with "Made in India". I guess it was produced by Addimult in Germany!

Friedrich, note that the Rolex is decimal while the Addimult is the old system. India went decimal in 1957 and the term 'Naye' (new) was dropped after just a few years. I've not seen the the background design on any Addimult or Addiator. Also, the design elements like the 'scroll' motif on the brand name is not seen in any Addimult. So, my guess is that this 'Rolex' is indeed an Indian product that, as you observed, is based on the Summator as a template. We may never know it was done under license or if it is just a knock off.

John, you are right and thanks for information! So it is from about 1957 on and completely decimal! (Will you make changes?)

I will make the changes. Also, note that in the Rolex the numerals are engraved not painted on. Did Addimult ever engrave their numerals? Also, the small circle designs on the Rolex are about 1 mm larger than the cirles on an Addimult. Suggesting that it was not made by Addimult.
