"A combined adding machine and typewriter for use in the preparation of bills or statements, such as money orders, having a plurality of detachable portions or slips on which are printed various data pertaining to the transaction is provided with a front feed travelling carriage and controlling mechanism associated therewith which automatically conditions the machine for certain types of operations, causes the machine to operate, and the travelling carriage to tabulate to print the desired data upon the different portions of the bill or statement in several consecutive and automatic machine operations."
